Dalibor Miklavcic

Dalibor Miklavcic obtained his MA in Vienna (University of Music) and advanced training in early keyboard music in Milano with Lorenzo Ghielmi. As student, he first drew public attention as prize-winner of two European EMCY-competitions (1989 & 1992) and now regularly gives recitals in 25 European states & Asia, on organ and as a pioneer on the rediscovered pedal piano and the baroque pedal harpsichord. Dalibor is also a concert improviser in classical styles. A charismatic pedagogue, he was invited to teach at more than 30 Masterclasses and invited lectures in Germany (Musikhochschule Lübeck; Musikhochschule Essen, Orgelakademie Ostheim), Russia (Moscow State Conservatoire P. I. Tchaikovsky), Sweden (Music Academy Malmö; Music Academy Göteborg), United Kingdom (Royal College of Organists; Royal College of Music), Hungary (Music Academy Ferenc Liszt Budapest), Poland (University of Music F. Chopin in Warsaw; Music Academy Katowice; Summer Masterclass Koszalin), Slovakia (State Conservatoire & Music Academy Bratislava) Italy (Trieste), Austria (Vienna Conservatoire, University of Music Graz;), Slovenia (Ljubljana - Zavod sv. Stanislava), Serbia (Belgrade Catholic Cathedral), Romania (Timisoara Music Academy), Norway (Oslo Music Academy) and elsewhere.

Dalibor was 2006-2009 visiting professor for Organ and Improvisation at Music University in Graz, Austria, and now teaches Chamber music at Music Academy, Ljubljana, and Organ at St. Stanislaus College - Ljubljana since 2000 (also State Conservatoire in Ljubljana 2000-2002). He was a jury member at international organ competitions in several EU-states and performs also in chamber ensembles and with the Orchestra on original instruments Haydn Sinfonietta Wien, Vienna (2008, 2009 Händel & Haydn Organ concerts). Miklavcic was president of the Slovenian Organ Society 2000-2005. He also designed characteristics of 25 new organs of Slovenian organ buliders (for example, copies of Hildebrandt 2007, Cavaillé-Coll 2008).
